Advice for looking after your jewelry
Despite their delicate appearance, filigree pieces are resistant and highly durable, and will last a long time. However, their beauty and durability will depend also on the care you give them. For that reason, we’d like to offer some advice in order to make sure you are able to wear your jewels for as long as possible!
- Avoid contact with chemicals such as ammonia, chlorine, bleach and other cleaning products, because these substances can leave residues and cause deterioration of the jewelry.
- Put your jewelry on after using cosmetic products: perfumes, lotions or creams can also leave residues or cause deterioration of the jewelry.
- Every time you take off your jewelry, make sure you store it in a cool, dry place. Opt for an airtight bag to avoid contact with oxygen, and store each piece separately to avoid dents or scratches.
- Be sure to remove your jewelry before showering, bathing or swimming. Chlorine, sea salt and bath products can cause discoloration of your jewelry.
- Don’t use your jewelry if you are going to play sports, both to avoid possible blows, and also because sweat is acidic and likely to discolor your pieces.
- Clean your jewelry regularly. It’s normal for your jewelry to lose luster over time due to dust, dirt, and accumulated residues. We advise you to clean it with lukewarm water and a mild soap. Soak the jewelry in the warm water before scrubbing it with the neutral soap and a soft brush. You can also use a polishing cloth for cleaning. Be sure to dry the jewelry completely before storing it.
